About the Duo

Guitar Duo Stojaković–Čižmek is a Croatian classical guitar duo recognised for refined ensemble playing, original transcription projects and thoughtfully curated concert programmes.

This artistic partnership is rooted in a friendship that began during their studies in Zagreb. While developing together as musicians, Petra Stojaković and Ana Čižmek laid the foundations for the professional collaboration that would later become Guitar Duo Stojaković–Čižmek.

During this period, both musicians established themselves as award-winning soloists and chamber musicians, receiving numerous prizes at national and international competitions, as well as scholarships for academic excellence.

Ana Čižmek (b. 1998) studied with Giampaolo Bandini at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Luigi Boccherini in Lucca before completing her Master’s degree with Goran Krivokapić at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in 2025. She is currently pursuing further studies in historical plucked instruments in Cologne.

Petra Stojaković (b. 1996) studied with Tomislav Vukšić at the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb, and spent her final year as an Erasmus+ student at Musikene in San Sebastián with Marco Socías.

In 2022, they founded Guitar Duo Stojaković–Čižmek with the launch of Life of Flowers, an artistic project centred around their original transcription of Dora Pejačević’s piano cycle Život cvijeća (Life of Flowers). Developed in collaboration with the Omni Foundation for the Performing Arts and D’Addario, the project was first presented as an audiovisual production before being released as an album by Galeb Music in 2026.

The duo maintains an active concert schedule, performing regularly throughout Croatia and Germany and is a frequent guest at guitar and chamber music festivals across Europe. Highlights include appearances at Classical Guitar Days in Split and the Iserlohn Guitar Festival.

Since 2024, Guitar Duo Stojaković–Čižmek has proudly represented D’Addario as official D’Addario Artists.
